September 2018
Morocco has actually not been on top of my bucket list, but when I was looking for a travel destination for the end of September, it all just seemed perfect. My expectations were actually quite high as it is ranked as one of the most photogenic places. And honestly, it was even better than I had imagined. The vibrant and colourful city of Marrakech was just stunning and the atmosphere was truly overwhelming. After having explored all the tiny streets and souks (markets) of Marrakech, we headed to the desert and passed the Atlas Mountains, some beautiful oasis and Ait Ben Haddou which is one of the most picturesque villages in the Sahara. We eventually reached our final destination, the sand desert "Erg Chebbi" after a loooong bus ride. However, when we arrived and got onto our camels, it was all a bit different than I had expected since a thunderstorm came up. I wasn't really prepared for that to be honest, but I still loved the ride to our camp for the night in the middle of nowhere . So that's the reason I ended up taking pictures of flashes instead of stars. Still cool, right? Morocco was impressive, there is still so much left to explore, the culture was fascinating, and we met some really warm and welcoming people!
