The Lofoten Islands have been on my bucket list for quite a long time. At the beginning of my exchange semester, a group of friends and I decided very spontaneously to go there over the weekend, because we knew that the weather would be perfect. When we arrived, we couldn't really believe what we saw. The nature at the Lofoten Islands is absolutely stunning and we had never expected to find such an incredible landscape. The most unbelievable fact for me is that Lofoten offers white sand beaches with crystal clear water, high mountains and beautiful fishing villages all in one place. And the very rough climate up in the North made the experience even more special. The cherry on top, however, was that we were able to see the Northern Lights twice during our four nights stay. I still can't believe how incredibly lucky we were and witnessing the Northern Lights when the sky was glowing was more than magical.
